Lapland, Finland – Sleep Under the Northern Lights

In Lapland, Finland, from the end of August through April there is a phenomenon for dream lovers: the enchanting aurora borealis. Lovers of nature, solitaries and intellectuals alike will be delighted to know that there is a hotel that offers the possibility of sleeping under this amazing sky without freezing!

Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort  offers rooms, no sorry…igloos! They fit two or more people, and give a front row seat to the infamous Northern Lights. The roof of the igloo is made from glass and from there you can be warm and cozy alone or with your loved one under an astonishing sky!

Saunas and showers are available inside the private igloos or in separate buildings, it depends on the accommodation you choose. And, for the child inside all of us…you can even visit Santa’s home!  Prices vary depending on the type of room or house you choose and reservations are available on the website.

  1. Hi Rebecca—Nice post, looks beautiful! I am a new blogger who will be arriving in Finland with friends on July 19. Going to a wedding in Helsinki and staying there and Jyvaskyla. Can’t wait! Wish I could go farther north and go where you describe! Steve 🙂
