South Africa – Self-drive Safari in Kruger National Park

If you are planning a game drive or safari in Africa, consider self-driving instead of a guided drive! Self-driving can provide you with an unforgettable experience away from the crowds with the animals where you may find yourself watching rhinos sleep or driving through a herd of elephants.

Additionally, you will be able to spend as much time as you want at each stop to take photos and enjoy the wildlife.

Although it is nice to have an educated guide to answer questions, identify species, and quickly locate big sightings, there tend to be many more people at the viewing locations because the game-drive guides immediately head to the same place upon hearing of a sighting. It can feel more like you are chasing the animals rather than encountering them in their natural habitat.

If you self-drive, it is worth renting an SUV to more easily navigate the roads and to better and more easily view the wildlife.

Now go ahead and book your trip to Africa! Just don’t forget your binoculars and camera!

    great post!
It maybe worth considering pre-reservation if you want to stay in the park over night in one of the many campsites.
    Check the site
Most of the campsites have shopping facilities for Braai (Afrikaans barbecue)
