Christ the Redeemer, Rio de Janeiro – Take a Stroll to the Wonder

This Tip has been suggested by our Italian Explorer: Giulia Furlani

Everybody knows that Christ the Redeemer is the symbol of Rio de Janeiro. No surprise, then, if you pop to the city and catch the train bringing you to Corcovado Mountainyou can enjoy this major work, which has been included in the Seven Wonders of the World since 2007.

But the tip that can make the difference to your trip is to forget about the train and get there instead by foot. In some spot the rise is quite difficult, but you will get benefit from the panorama. There’s nothing better than being immersed in Tijuca National Park, surrounded by monkeys, exotic birds and tropical plants!

It is a two hour stroll through rich Brazilian nature to reach the peak, and gives another dynamic to the view, that otherwise would be included in one of the banal disposable experiences.  Photos and selfies to tell your friends “I was here!” will be nothing compared to the sensation of gaining this inside experience!
