Red sand, blue sea, nature and snorkeling. If you like these, we have the perfect destination for you. San Blas Beach, situated on the island of Gozo, in Malta. The secret here? It is found only by smart visitors, who are adventurous enough to seek it out!
San Blas is near Nadu Village, at the foot of Ta’ Sopu, a tower built by the Order of Saint John in 1667. From the tower that overlooks the beach, it is possible to admire an undisturbed panorama.
The only way to reach this beach is by foot because the road leading down to it is extremely steep. The trek is worth it and completely doable for the able bodied explorer. You can drive to Nadur and follow signs for San Blas. There is a very small parking area at the top of the hill but keep in mind, it frequently fills up in the summer months.
Down at the beginning of the bay there is a small kiosk, where it is possible to rent kayaks and sun beds, or to buy something to drink or eat. Although the beach is off the beaten path, don’t worry, you won’t feel like Robinson Crusoe!
